Trust Framework Architect (Digital Identity & Verified Credentials)
About the Role
We’re building the next generation of identity infrastructure — a verified credential (VC) SDK that enables banks and enterprises to issue and verify digital credentials securely and seamlessly.
We’re looking for a Trust Framework Architect to design and operationalize the standards, logic, and governance framework that will define how credentials are issued, verified, and trusted across the ecosystem. This role will establish the “gold standard” for credential issuance — defining what makes a credential truly trustworthy, interoperable, and compliant.
You’ll architect the processes, protocols, and policies that underpin a scalable, fraud-resistant identity framework for the modern internet.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and codify trust frameworks: Define end-to-end credentialing standards, including the data, documents, and validation steps required for key credential types (e.g., name, age, accredited investor).
  • Create the certification process for trusted issuers: Develop onboarding, validation, and monitoring processes that ensure issuers meet stringent requirements before and after issuance.
  • Establish credentialing logic and protocols: Define the policies, workflows, and edge case handling that guide issuance, revocation, and verification.
  • Develop auditing and governance standards: Create compliance metrics, auditing criteria, and oversight frameworks to maintain ongoing integrity across issuers.
  • Monitor and interpret evolving regulations: Stay abreast of emerging state, federal, and international identity and privacy laws (e.g., age verification, digital ID, and KYC requirements). Translate new legislation — such as California AB 1043 — into actionable adjustments to credentialing standards and frameworks.
  • Ensure regulatory adaptability: Design processes flexible enough to meet varying legal and jurisdictional requirements while maintaining interoperability and user trust.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Work with engineers, product leaders, and external partners (banks, fintechs, and verifiers) to align standards with technical implementation.
  • Mitigate trust and fraud risks: Anticipate vulnerabilities, define safeguards, and ensure processes are robust, scalable, and resistant to misuse.
  • Drive interoperability: Align internal standards with global frameworks (e.g., W3C, DIF, ISO, NIST, EBSI) while identifying and closing gaps in usability or trust adoption.
  • Serve as a thought leader: Represent the company in industry working groups and standards bodies, contributing to the evolution of global SSI and VC best practices.

Qualifications
  • Proven experience in digital identity, credentialing, compliance, or trust framework design (e.g., Trust Over IP, W3C VC, FIDO, eIDAS, ISO, or similar).
  • Understanding of self-sovereign identity (SSI) principles, verified credentials, and issuer–holder–verifier ecosystems.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. and international privacy and identity regulations, and ability to interpret and operationalize legal requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to create policy, process, and protocol documentation from the ground up.
  • Strong grasp of risk management, fraud prevention, and compliance frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder alignment skills — able to translate technical concepts into operational policy.

Why Join Us
You’ll define the backbone of digital trust. Your work will become the reference model for how verified credentials are issued and managed across industries — from finance and education to healthcare and beyond.
This is a rare opportunity to design the rules of trust for the next era of digital identity.
